Shipping and Receiving Worker

• Responsible for working within a team in the Shipping/Receiving area, performing a variety of tasks associated with the picking, packing, shipping and receiving of various materials and finished goods. Cleans drums, pails, and bins.
• Pick and Assemble orders from stock or production areas as directed by packing list; weigh and prepare customer orders for shipment.
• Receive raw materials and other items from vendors. Inspect, verify, and place materials in proper location as directed. Assist in maintaining finished goods inventory.
• Maintain housekeeping in the shipping area and discard waste in the proper containers and keep work area clean of debris and trash.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
• Inspect all assigned equipment and report and defects to the appropriate supervisor.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High School diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
• 1+ year’s experience in manufacturing or construction.
• Able to operate plant equipment including Sit down, Stand up and Pallet Jack forklifts and Hoists.
• Excellent attention to details.
• Read, write, and speak English.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle heavier items, including loads exceeding 100 pounds, using appropriate team-lifting procedures and equipment.
• Team lifting is required for items weighing more than 55 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, and use hands to operate tools, equipment, and controls.
• Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment and occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and industrial chemicals.
• Ability to meet the visual and physical demands of a manufacturing and shipping environment.
